David Amigoni is Professor of Victorian Literature at Keele University, and Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation. As an academic researcher he has worked on Victorian literature, intellectual history and culture. Since 2009 he has been active in more practice-based, theatre-focused research on ageing and culture. He was a REF panelist (UoA 27) in 2021 and has been appointed again for 2029. He has been active for around a decade in promoting the importance of arts and culture-based civic engagement and knowledge exchange, in his 'home patch' of Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire; but also, nationally through the work he has been able to do through NCACE. In 2021 he was one of the main drivers of the work to establish Stoke Creates, the cultural compact for Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.
